Heritage Day 5K Race Course Route:
Start at
the stop sign intersection directly behind WalMart on
Cypress Knee Trail which turns into West Eckner St. Mile
1 is just after Beech St. The course turns right onto
Tamarack St., and veers left onto Hilltop lane, where it
circles back around a treed cul-de-sac and retraces the
steps to the finish in front of the Barrier Island
Fitness center. Mile 2 is just past the left turn onto
W. Eckner St. from Tamarack St. Mile 3 is at the
intersection of Hanging Moss Trail. The finish line is
about a quarter of a mile southwest of the start line.
Registration, refreshments and awards will take place
next to the finish line. Runners can park in the WalMart
lot and walk over to registration. Or they can park in
the Barrier Island Fitness Center lot near registration
until spaces are filled. There will also be a free fun
run conducted by the
Dare County Youth Council, with awards for all
finishers.
