Race Description
Run or walk over the tallest sand
dunes on the East Coast of the United
States
CAUCTION:
Entrants participate at their own risk.
Runners say this is one of the most
difficult cross country races in the
nation. One participant said he would
rather run the marathon than this
two-mile event. Conditions are most
likely to be hot, humid, hilly and
sandy. Shoes are required. Trail shoes
are highly recommended so sand will not
fill your shoes and jam your toes. Sun
block will be provided. Sunglasses are
recommended. The heat of the reflecting
sand may be substantially higher than
the air temperature. Hydrate well in the
weeks and days leading to the event.
Please...no children under age 13 on
this race course.
