RUN, EAT, NAP. The Outer Banks Running Club once again invites you to start off your Thanksgiving morning with a calorie deficit by traversing (run/trot/walk/stroll) a family-friendly 5k course through the Village at Nags Head while enjoying views of the Roanoke sound!

Beneficiary: This event serves as the primary fundraiser each year for your race organizer, the Outer Banks Running Club. Registration: Online registration will close at noon on Monday 11/24/14 (or sooner if race capacity is reached). Walk-up registration may be available during packet pick-up if the event is not full, but your best is to register online now! 5k participants registered before noon on Thursday 11/13/14 will receive a race shirt (long-sleeve cotton, Unisex sizes Youth M, L and Adult XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL). Course Map & Information: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/130811756 A digital race clock will be positioned at the start/finish for you to keep track of your own time (there will be no chip timing). Baby strollers, wagons, jog strollers are allowed (and encouraged for that matter, but for safety’s sake please be sure to position yourself toward the back at the start). We’re sorry, but bikes, scooters, skateboards, motorized vehicles, “wheelie shoes”, and dogs are not permitted. The Fun Run will start at approximately 9:00am and is 9/10 of a mile in length.
On-course Hydration & Medical Services: Water station near mid-point of the course. Dare County EMS will be on-call.

Packet Pick-up: Sponsored by ROANOKE ISLAND RUNNING COMPANY (Website: http://www.roanokeislandrun.com/, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RoanokeIslandRunningCompany). Packet pick-up will be held Wednesday 11/26/14 from 4:00-7:30pm in the Runners Loft at Roanoke Island Running Company (107 F Budleigh Street, Manteo). RIRC will be conducting drawings for giveaways and is offering all race participants a discount of 10% off nutrition & shoes and 15% off everything else in the store (Garmin products excluded). Race Day packet pick-up will also be available from 7:00-7:45am on-site near Outer Banks Furniture. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, please help us help our community members in need – your donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected and delivered to our local food pantry, thank you!
Post-race Hospitality: Light breakfast for registered participants only. No alcohol is permitted.
Parking: Outer Banks Mall, 5000 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head (Milepost 14.5 on 158). No parking is allowed at the Food Lion (they will be open) or the Outback Steakhouse.
Refunds/Transfers/Inclement Weather: This is a fundraising event and there will be no refunds or transfers. The race will be held rain or shine, but may be delayed or cancelled in the event of unsafe weather conditions (ex. lightning).
