Outer Banks Running Club
P.O. Box 2086
Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948
The Outer Banks Running Club is a membership non-profit organization holding 501 3(s) status as an official chapter/club of RRCA (Road Runners Club of America). We are also members of the United States of America Track and Field and Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.
We began with 5 people gathering in the morning in a parking lot and heading out to run. We now have over 200 members and present several races per year, weekly group runs, and clinics for our members.
We understand that runners will do many events for a charitable cause (we do too), and all but one of our races* assist local charitable causes. It is not the mission of the club to be a fundraising entity. We share this because as the sport of running has become more popular as a source of revenue for both non-profit and for-profit organizations, we remain committed to first and foremost sharing our sport, hobby, and passion to support and encourage running among our members and with friends who visit us on the Outer Banks.
*The Thanksgiving event, the Outer Banks Gobbler 5K & Fun Run, is the sole race in which the club retains 100% net proceeds to fund club operations including dues and fees to national running affiliations, insurance, running clinics, training and social events for members, equipment, and a club designation of community charitable support.

We are not experts but we believe we provide quality running events. Club race directors must be committed members who not only work their events but assist their fellow race directors and support club programs. OBRC race directors mentor with an experienced race director or serve as a co-race director before conducting their own event. OBRC race directors agree to a high standard of race and event standards and guidelines to ensure club integrity and race quality.
